Our great coach on this episode is Tara Ann VanDerveer. Tara is a retired American basketball coach who led the Stanford Womends bascketball team for 38 years. In that time she led the Cardinals to NCAA championships in 1990, 1992 and 2021 and 13 final fours. In 1996 she also led the US national team to the gold medal at the Atlanta Olympics. In january 2024 she sured both Path Summit and Mike Mike Krzyzewski as the winningest coach in college basketball history. Eventually retiring with a record of 1218 wins at a ratiopn of 81.8%. Tara was voted the Naismith National coach of the year on 3 occaasions and the Pac 12 coach of the teas on 18 occasions. She was unducted into the Womens Basketball Hall of fame in 2002.
