Foba & Matemo "Porcelain"
Foba & Matemo "Porcelain"
Having relocated from to the predominantly French-speaking Canadian music hub that is Montreal in April of last year, Victor Brulé (a.k.a. Foba) and Matthieu Tessier (a.k.a. Matemo) have continued their roles as part of the larger Get Monet production outfit since making their way across the pond. Featured here, "Porcelain" serves as Brulé's and Tessier's first ever collaboration solely as a pair; a club-minded track, "Porcelain" is a simple-but-effective affair, one that draws the listener in with its stream of pulsing chords while a revolving series of percussive tricks and a bouncing sub-bassline seem to ensure that one's feet will keep moving throughout the entirety of the tune's five-plus-minute run. Eaves "Projector"
Eaves "Projector"
Hailing from New York, Eaves is set to debut on Seattle's Hush Hush label next month with the four-track Hue EP. Pulled from the record is "Projector," a fast-evolving production which builds its heavy-handed rhythms from booming kicks and bursts of noise that sound as if they originated from a hi-voltage machine in the midst of a complete breakdown. Initially focusing his efforts on the more heavy-handed side of the beatmaking spectrum, Eaves slowly tames "Projector" over time, gradually revealing the tasteful melodic flourishes and detailed textures which fit in the spaces between the effort's harrowing rhythmic base. The East Coast artist's "Projector" track can be ed below before Eaves' Hue EP lands on March 23. Projector

Jozef K + Winter Son "Loveless Vessel"
Jozef K + Winter Son "Loveless Vessel"
The pair of Manchester-based producers Jozef K and Winter Son have again combined their efforts for an EP's worth of melancholic efforts. Their second collaborative outing, Jozef K + Winter Son's Brave EP sees its release this week via the Rebirth label, featuring remixes from the increasingly essential Tuff City Kids outfit (a.k.a. former XLR8R podcast contributor Gerd Janson and Phillip Lauer) and Rebirth label head Shield. Pulled from the EP is "Loveless Vessel," a patient track which initially arrives bathed in rich, echoing piano chords (and some carefully selected vocal snippets) before eventually laying into a four-on-the-floor bounce fueled by echoey hats and claps which drive the production forward across its six-minute run. Trulz & Robin "Adventure (Usmev Remix)"
Trulz & Robin "Adventure (Usmev Remix)"
Next up on the Cymasonic label is Dance Music Therapy Volume 3, the third in a series of compilation EPs featuring artist from the label's inner circle. Amongst Volume 3's efforts is this remix from Barcelona talent Usmev, who takes on longtime Oslo-based production pair Trulz & Robin's "Adventure" (the original version of which is also slated to appear on the compilation EP). A virtually beatless endeavor in its original form, Usmev transforms "Adventure" into a more club-ready affair, keeping the tracks airy atmosphere intact while lacing the production with a stomping kick-drum, lurching bassline, and much more throughout the rework's 7-minute run. The budding Barcelona producer's take on Trulz & Robin's "Adventure" track can be ed below, where the forthcoming Dance Music Therapy Volume 3 EP can also be previewed ahead of its release tomorrow, February 17. Selvy "Calliope's Dream"
Selvy "Calliope's Dream"
After making his debut in the XLR8R s section last week with his remix of Russian producer Kito Jempere, Selvy has quickly returned with a new track of his own. Pulled from the Polish artist's Com EP, "Calliope's Dream" is a breezy dancefloor effort, one that folds a tasteful amount of disco touches between its tropical melodies, understated guitar strums, and interwoven layers of lightly brushed percussion. Selvy's "Calliope's Dream" production can be ed below, where the burgeoning beatmaker's Com EP can also be streamed in full before it drops via Poland's fledgling (but so far impressively reliable) Transatlantyk imprint on February 24. AL-90 "Vectornaya Eyforia"
AL-90 "Vectornaya Eyforia"
Hailing from the Russian city of Murmansk, AL-90 is a budding producer who is set to deliver a new album via the Fuselab label later this month. Entitled CODE-913915, the record is set to feature a sizable collection of the Russian artist's "post/tape-house" constructions, which usually bury a series of '90s-referencing melodies, re-pitched samples, and a sluggish four-on-the-floor beneath a bed of murky textures. One such cut is "Vectornaya Eyforia," a track that fits ping-ponging melodies and a series of chopped vocals beneath its blanket of dark and hazy chords. AL-90's "Vectornaya Eyforia" production can be ed below before the beatmaker's full CODE-913915 album lands on February 25. Vectornaya Eyforia

.smuv x Repeat Pattern "Inside Looking Out"
.smuv x Repeat Pattern "Inside Looking Out"
"Inside Looking Out" finds German producer .smuv and Japan-based beatmaker Repeat Pattern combining forces to craft an intoxicatingly off-kilter effort. At its base, "Inside Looking Out" laces a sparse, stumbling kick-and-rim pattern with woozy chord and a few pitched-down vocal samples. From there, .smuv and Repeat Pattern slyly slip in a number of additional elements into the procession; stringed drones, resonant bells, and even the creek of crickets all come in and out of focus across the brief—but no less head-nod worthy—beat's run. Wax Stag "Ascension"
Wax Stag "Ascension"
Wax Stag is the solo alias of Rob Lee, an English producer and multi-instrumentalist who has served as a hired hand for an impressive list of musical endeavors over the years. Having released his debut LP as Wax Stag back in 2008, Lee is set to issue his second LP under the name later this month via the fledgling Old Habits label. With the simple title of II, the record is said to find Lee exploring his "infatuation with slower house tempos, dreamy synth sounds, and vintage style drums all awash with melody and hooks," a description which seems fitting for the LP bonus cut offered here, "Ascension." Spanning just under five minutes, the track is built on a steady drum machine pulse which keeps "Ascension" driving forward as playful melodic bursts engage in a bit of call and response before being absorbed by an array of elongated synth tones and arpeggiated melodies. Wax Stag's "Ascension" production can be ed below before the UK artist's new album lands on February 16. Ascension

Orlando Volcano "Worst Night in New York So Far"
Orlando Volcano "Worst Night in New York So Far"
A Brooklyn transplant (by way of Europe), Orlando Volcano has let loose a handful of new tracks over the past week, with the final piece of the puzzle being the subdued "Worst Night in New York So Far" production. A hybrid affair, "Worst Night in New York So Far" appears to take a few cues from the Fade to Mind camp's brand of club music, while also incorporating some elements from the more ethereal side of the Tri Angle spectrum. Led by a charging procession of rolling snares, the track utilizes snippets of choir-like voices and reverb-soaked bells to provide the melodic balance to the tune's sparse hats and dark, bellowing bassline. "Worst Night in New York So Far" can be ed in full below, while Orlando Volcano's other recent free offerings ("Neva Gonna Put U Down" and "Tool & Die") can both be picked up via the artist's SoundCloud. Glacial "Wisteria"
Glacial "Wisteria"
From the sound of "Wisteria," the Greek pair behind Glacial could not have chosen a more fitting name. Consisting of Greek techno/house producer Giorgos Lemos (who operates simply as Lemos) and saxophonist/experimental artist Ilan Manouach, the group is set to release a new EP via the Athens-based six d.o.g.s., Entropy, which will serve as the Glacial project's first release since issuing its self-titled debut LP in 2012. Ahead of the EP's release later this month, Glacial has offered up the aforementioned "Wisteria" production as a free to XLR8R readers. A dreamy dancefloor excursion that spans over seven minutes, "Wisteria" is propelled forward by deep, rolling rhythms, which serve as the foundation for the track's enveloping layers of detailed textures, dense atmospherics, and dubbed hits. Glacial's "Wisteria" can be ed below before the pair's Entropy EP lands on February 23; preview snippets of the Greek outfit's EP have also been included below. Wisteria

Infamous Boogieman "Boys Club"
Infamous Boogieman "Boys Club"
Canada's ASL Singles Club outpost is set to add a new EP to its fast-growing catalog next month in the form of a four-track effort from Brooklyn artist Infamous Boogieman. Ahead of its release, the label has ed along the Boogieman EP's closing cut, "Boys Club," as a first taste. Peppered with chirpy field recordings, the production comes built on the back of a clattering drum machine rhythm, on top of which Infamous Boogieman lays a handful of airy chords and occasional spurts of slap bass. The brisk closing cut from the Brooklyn artist's forthcoming Boogieman EP can be ed below before the full effort lands on March 17. Boys Club

Dizzy Womack "Flares"
Dizzy Womack "Flares"
Based in the Austrian city of Graz, Dizzy Womack has steadily built up his catalog of productions over the past few years, placing EPs on both Top Billin' and Discobelle, amongst other endeavors. Later this year, the burgeoning Womack plans to issue a concept EP of sorts, but before then, he has ed along "Flares," a deep club track which drizzles an array of cosmic chords atop its sturdy four-on-the-floor. "Flares" isn't without its twists though; halfway through its seven-minute run, the track turns its aims towards a more sparse dancefloor structure, adding a few spacey bell hits and extra percussion knocks before again diving back into its sweeping chords. Kito Jempere "Ja?rvi (Selvy Interpretation)"
Kito Jempere "Ja?rvi (Selvy Interpretation)"
In April of last year, Russian producer Kito Jempere (pictured above) released his debut full-length, Objects, via his own Fata Morgana label. Now, Jempere has enlisted a crew of artists to help him revisit Objects for a forthcoming remix EP which will feature the likes of Jacques Renault, HNNY, Inkswel, and Polish newcomer Selvy, whose take on Kempere's "Ja?rvi" is featured here. Billed as an "interpretation," Selvy reshapes the dark and loose track into a much breezier affair, one pushed forward by a light disco bounce and kept afloat by a steady stream of tropical chords and lively percussion hits. Selvy's contribution to the Objects Remixes collection can be ed below, while the rest of the EP (officially out next week) can be previewed via the player included here. Venuq "Pixac?a?o"
The low-rumbling "Pixac?a?o" serves as our first introduction to Venuq, a Leeds-based newcomer who also contributes to the Rhodo Dendron project alongside fellow UK producer Bambooman. A gloomy production, "Pixac?a?o" teeters on a heavy-handed stomp, adding a growling bassline and a continuous supply of textured field recordings and dubby chords to the mix across the track's five-minute run. Mite "Horn Anthem"
Mite "Horn Anthem"
Atlanta-based producer and co-founder of the Embassy label (alongside Distal), Mite will soon drop his Locker Code EP via the imprint. A five-track endeavor which nimbly dissects the worlds of bass-fueled beatwork, techno, and grime, Locker Code will include the half-time roll of "Horn Anthem" in its run. Built atop booming kicks, snapping snares and rims, and a steady stream of off-kilter hats, the appropriately titled track goes on to drape a series of punchy horn lines (or at least synths that sound a lot like horns) and glowing synthwork atop the track's 808-made frame. Mite (whose "Cemetery Seance" production is set to appear early on in Mumdance's Fabric mix) will drop his Locker Code EP via Embassy later this month; in the meantime, "Horn Anthem" can be ed below, where a preview stream of Mite's record has also been included. Citymouth "Glowscraps (feat. Gumar)"
Portland's Dropping Gems label/collective will kick off its 2015 run with the Astrocentric LP from Citymouth, a core member of the Pacific Northwest crew who has appeared on many of the imprint's well-received Gem Drops compilations. Said to have been recorded over the past several years, Citymouth's album is stacked with features from fellow beatmakers, with the likes of Stones Throw MNDSGN, DJAO (who released his debut LP via Dropping Gems last year), yuk., and Ages all making appearances on the record. Ahead of Astrocentric's release next month, Citymouth has elected to give away LP cut "Glowscraps," which features Portland's Gumar, a producer who helped found Dropping Gems in its earliest stages and has also been known to make tracks under the names Break Mode and IBQT. Together, the two craftsman piece together a woozy excursion, one that begins amidst clouds of swirling chords before pieces of slightly broken percussion and sweetly plucked bass break through the fog. "Glowscraps" can be ed in full below where the artwork and tracklist for Citymouth's LP have also been included; Astrocentric officially drops on March 3. 1. Singlecycles (feat. Sau Poler & Pedro Vian "Paral.lel"
Sau Poler & Pedro Vian "Paral.lel"
Two Spanish producers with their fair share of contributions to our s section, Sau Poler (pictured above) and Pedro Vian have combined forces on "Paral.lel," a dusty dancefloor excursion. Spanning just over five minutes, "Paral.lel" first assembles a chugging rhythmic base, which is slowly ed by woozy chords and the pluck of off-kilter strings. From there, Poler and Vian weave bits of glass-like percussion, tasteful vocal chops, and—eventually—some cyclical string pads into the mix, resulting in a deceivingly calming dancefloor endeavor, one which makes it easy to conclude that the Barcelona-based artists clearly work well together. To help spread word of the digital EP's forthcoming release, the budding London producer has ed along a bonus original cut, "Warm & Pretty." Spanning seven minutes, the appropriately titled production is a peaceful dancefloor excursion, one heavy on atmosphere and occasionally touched by light piano melodies. Clip! "Storm"
Today, Barcelona's Clip! has released the Storm/Untitled digital single, a record comprised of two tracks that the burgeoning producer recorded live in his studio. Serving as the single's virtual a-side is "Storm," a pulsing exercise in hardware construction which piles layers of squirming synth tones atop a steady stream of tough rhythmic elements. A freeform jam of sorts, Clip! has not only elected to give away both "Storm" and the accompanying "Untitled" production, but has gone one step further and provided videos of the live jam sessions which resulted in the pair of new tracks, giving us all a chance to see how the tune was pieced together and to ogle at the artist's enviable arsenal of gear. Clip!'s "Storm" track can be grabbed for free below, where the videos for both of the digital single's efforts have also been included. Those interested can also pick up the man's "Untitled" track by heading here. Storm

Grey People "Moonstruck"
Grey People "Moonstruck"
Atlanta's fledgling CGI label is prepared to continue growing in 2015, with its first release of the year landing this week in the form of the Trench Foot EP from Grey People, an artist raised in Chicago who now calls Nashville, Tennessee home. On his new effort, the artist-born Alex Michalski delivers a helping of raw, machine-made funk, of which the slithering "Moonstruck" is perhaps its catchiest endeavor. Fueled by the stomp of a red-lined drum machine, the track focuses on a new-wave indebted synth sequence which bends and twists as Michalski generously manipulates a slew of background textures. The second of four cuts on Grey People's new release, "Moonstruck" can be ed below, where a full stream of the Nashville producer's Trench Foot EP has also been included.
