The mission of God comes with the power and the presence of God. This is such a great promise because we don't have to manipulate or manufacture a move of God. All we need to do is walk in partnership with God. This is a great reminder for us.

This week we continue to talk about the reality that God partners with His people to bring His Kingdom to earth. We look at the Spirit filled life of Jesus and the Spirit's involvement in Jesus' life. We also share the story of Peggy and Christine Smith, who God partnered with in a significant way, in the mid 1900's to bring revival to their town.

This was a unique Sunday in the life of our community. Our community was hit with a tragedy the day before, and this is how we responded. We strengthened ourselves in the Lord by looking at Psalm 107.

There are patterns throughout Scripture. Ways God works. One of those that is clearly seen throughout Scripture is that God works through people. In this message we talk about how God partnered with people throughout the Old Testament. As you listen ask yourself, am I available to God today?

We begin a season exploring what does it mean to partner with the Lord, to work Him. When you stop and think about partnership with the Lord, it's really a profound reality, but it's been that way from the beginning. As you listen pray and ask the Lord, how does He want to work with you today? Also, at the beginning of the message we give an update regarding the future location of our worship gatherings.

Idol of Self Care

Mike shared testimonies from his recent trips to Honduras and the Philippines. We do apologize that for some reason the recording was cut short.

Look at what we've done. Look at what we've accomplished. There is a temptation to make a name for ourselves by what we do, or to try to impress God by our works. But God says don't boast in your accomplishments, boast in this - that you know God! When looking at all he accomplished, Paul said nothing comes close to knowing God. Is your greatest desire to know God? Is that what you are bragging about?

In Matthew 15 people complain because the disciples of Jesus don't follow tradition and wash their hands. These complaints come at the same time people are being healed, delivered, and set free. Often, we can fall in to the same trap of complaining that people don't do things the same way we do them. In this message we look at the idol of tradition and all the ways it creeps into our lives, and are challenged to have a heart that constantly seeks the Lord.

Jesus was very clear, don't be anxious about your life. Instead, seek first the Kingdom of God and trust God for your life. Is this how we live? Do we trust Him? Do we recognize that all things come from Him? We look at Jesus teaching in Luke 12 and talk about the idol of money.

Reece VanNiekerk from Overland Missions talks about the idol of comfort and how it's a counterfeit for peace, which is promised in Christ.

Jesus said it clearly, you cannot serve two masters. As we begin this series we talk about the war going on for your heart, and what is needed to expose and eliminate every idol from our lives.

Prayer is more than talking with God, prayer is listening. But how do you hear the voice of God? What does his voice sound like? How does he communicate? What are we to do when he communicates? We talk about this and more from John 10.

After He left, Jesus expected His followers to fast, to go without food and hunger for the Kingdom of God. Are we living with an intentional hunger for the Kingdom of God to come. In this message we look at the practice of fasting and talk about why should we fast and what fasting accomplishes.

When Jesus was asked by his disciples, teach us to pray, He taught them. The words He taught them is what we call the Lord's prayer, and throughout the years followers of Jesus have considered this prayer to be a secret weapon. Why is that? In the fast paced world we live in, the Lord's prayer reorients our life and focuses our heart and mind on our Father, His Kingdom, and His will for our lives.

Throughout Jesus' life we see him retreating to be with His Father. Even in times when the crowds were pressing in, wanting to make Him king, he withdraws to a lonely place to pray. This rhythm demonstrates a powerful truth: Jesus was submitted to the Father's Leadership. As we look at our lives, are we? Are we submitted to the leadership of the Father? Is our outer life directed by our inner life? Do we have regular rhythms of retreated to be with God?

Malachi shares his testimony and challenges us to live our lives wholeheartedly for Jesus. [Note: This was an encouraging message as Malachi's grandfather was able to pray for him before he shared.] Be encouraged.
