Flower of Sweet Strabane-A traditional song from Northern Ireland,
[D]If I were King of Ire[A]land And had all things at[Bm] my will I'd roam for recreation More comfort to find[A] still But the com[Bm]fort I would seek the most So that you may under[A]stand Would be to win[Bm] the heart of MarA]tha The Flower of Sweet Stra[Bm]bane,,,[D] Her cheeks they are as rubies Her hair a dove-soft brown And o'er her milk white shoulders It carelessly hangs down She is the fairest creature And the pride of all her clan And my heart is captivated By the flower of Sweet StrabaneBut since I cannot gain her love No joy there is for me And I must seek to hide my tears In the lands across the sea Unless she cares to follow me I swear by my right hand McKenna's face you'll ne'er more see My Flower of Sweet Strabane. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Forty Shades of Green-is a song about Ireland, written and first performed by American country singer Johnny Cash
I close my eyes and picture the emerald of the sea From the fishing boats at Dingle to the shores of Dunardee I miss the river Shannon and the folks at Skibbereen The moorlands and the midlands with their forty shades of green But most of all I miss a girl in Tipperary town And most of all I miss her lips as soft as eiderdown Again I want to see and do the things we've done and seen Where the breeze is sweet as Shalimar and there's forty shades of green (Green green green forty shades of green) I wish that I could spend an hour at Dublin's churching surf I'd love to watch the farmers drain the bogs and spade the turf To see again the thatching of the straw the women glean I'd walk from Cork to Larne to see the forty shades of green But most of all I miss a girl... "Forty Shades of Green" has also been recorded by Daniel O'Donnell, Foster and Allen, and Ruby Murray, among others. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

One warm summer night He rode into sight On a wild mare that was so perfectly white I'd dreamed he'd return and I was right Wishes can come true when you wish with all your might... One look in his eyes I had realized His life was so simple he had no disguise He lived day to day, no promise he would stay But in these few words he stole my heart awayHe said: "My life's not to lead Through power or greed I am but a poor man when I'm cut I bleed A more humble man you never will meet And here is my heart for only you to keep..." In the shade of the willow tree My poor peasant promised to meNo scholarly thoughts, he couldn't pay high costs And sometimes it feels like he's totally lost But he said this true and he said it loud "I promise you my heart with this solemn vow..." One warm summer night He rode out of sight On a wild mare that was so perfectly white I'd dreamed he'd return and I was right Wishes can come true when you wish with all your might..In the shade of the willow tree My poor peasant promised to me.
I've been here for a million years Through the joy, through the tears But when I am gone this will go on And the circle starts again I've watched the mountains rise from dust Saw the gold return to rust I had cried when the oceans died And the circle starts againO-o-oh, o-o-oh A-a-ah, a-a-ah O-o-oh, o-o-oh A-a-ah, a-a-ah I was here when the world began to turn Kissed the sun as it started to burn The whispering at the reckoning Said: "The circle starts again"The moon was rising from above I caught her eye and thought it was love But she turned her back, the sky went black And the circle starts again O-o-oh, o-o-oh A-a-ah, a-a-ah O-o-oh, o-o-oh A-a-ah, a-a-ah I danced through castles made of stone Walked the desert sands alone In the midnight hour you feet the power And the circle starts again Now the question falls to you, my friend No beginning has no end Will we ever learn, will the world still turn Will the circle starts again?
The Dublin City Ramblers began life in the mid 60s as The Jolly Tinkers, but due to the existence of ballad groups with same name, they decided to change their name to The Quare Fellas. At this time the line up consisted of Patsy Watchorn, brothers Sean and Matt McGuinness and Pat Cummins. While the group recorded the two albums At Home and A Fond Tale on the CBS label, they considered themselves part-time musicians. Pat Cummins left the band between the first and second CBS album and was replaced by Brendan Leeson.[1]

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Rose of Tralee Traditional The pale moon was rising above the green mountain, The sun was declining beneath the blue sea; When I strayed with my love to the pure crystal fountain, That stands in the beautiful Vale of Tralee. She was lovely and fair as the rose of the summer, Yet 'twas not her beauty alone that won me; Oh no, 'twas the truth in her eyes ever dawning, That made me love Mary, the Rose of Tralee. The cool shades of evening their mantle were spreading And Mary all smiling sat listening to me; The moon through the valley her pale rays were shining When I won the heart of the Rose of Tralee. She was lovely and fair as the rose of the summer, Yet 'twas not her beauty alone that won me; Oh no, 'twas the truth in her eyes ever dawning, That made me love Mary, the Rose of Tralee. On the far fields of India, mid war's bloody thunder, Her voice was a solace and comfort to me, But the cold hand of death has now torn us asunder I'm lonely tonight for my Rose of Tralee. She was lovely and fair as the rose of the summer, Yet 'twas not her beauty alone that won me; Oh no, 'twas the truth in her eyes ever dawning, That made me love Mary, the Rose of Tralee. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sleivenamon. celta music "mountain of the women"
Slievenamon (Irish: Sliabh na mBan, [??l?i?w n??? ?m?an?], "mountain of the women") is a mountain which is situated northwest of Carrick on Suir and northeast of Clonmel in County Tipperary, Ireland. It stands at 721 m (2,365 ft). Sitting at the western end of a range of low hills, Slievenamon is a striking conical mass, offering a dramatic view from the top over the counties of Tipperary, Kilkenny and Waterford. Much of its lower slopes is wooded. A low hill attached to Slievenamon, known as Carrigmaclea (a.k.a. Carraigmoclear), was the site of a battle during the Irish Rebellion of 1798. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In Dublin's fair city, Where the girls are so pretty, I first set my eyes on sweet Molly Malone, As she wheeled her wheel-barrow, Through streets broad and narrow, Crying, "Cockles and mussels, alive, alive, oh!" "Alive, alive, oh, Alive, alive, oh", Crying "Cockles and mussels, alive, alive, oh". She was a fishmonger, But sure 'twas no wonder, For so were her father and mother before, And they each wheeled their barrow, Through streets broad and narrow, Crying, "Cockles and mussels, alive, alive, oh!"(chorus) She died of a fever, And no one could save her, And that was the end of sweet Molly Malone. Now her ghost wheels her barrow, Through streets broad and narrow, Crying, "Cockles and mussels, alive, alive, oh!"

Actualizado
