INKA TREASURE - is my latest mix tape, inspired by The Inca Trail en route to Machu Picchu, Peru, recorded live at The Zen Temple. It is hard to put into words what the journey to this UNESCO World Heritage Site high in the Andes Mountains does to your mind, body and soul: You just have to do it, It’s Magical. Hiking, trekking, climbing approximately 8 miles a day uphill, for 4 days through the Amazon Jungle & Rain Forest filled with rich flora and fauna, up through the Peruvian Yungas, and up through the cloud forest, into the frozen tundra and descending back down through the cloud forest, is a life changing experience. During this challenging journey, while our minds and spirits were flying in the mist and the clouds, chewing on coca leaves for energy and to stay comfortably numb, I was constantly thinking of ways to share and express the experience, which inspired me to be able to do it through music. During the last six months, I’ve relived, reflected and have searched for those strange unexplained natural sounds emitting from Mother Earth, and tried to combine them with that beat that is always in my head, and was able to expand and take my music collection and creativity in the studio to a place I’ve really never been before. This first two hour set, will be the Atmospheric mix, the next one, the Tribal mix. INKA TREASURE done in a “bell-curve programming format”, starts with the sounds of the jungle, thunder and rain, before fading in a Ayahuasca Shaman’s from Incan decent, drum and chant, to set the mood. The mix introduces you to Andean sounds, mixed in with some electronica sounds, blended with some of my all time favorites. Driven my low end bass lines and zynths, toppled with percussive layers & drums for energy and drive, while pads gently caress your ears, with the ading of melodics & harmonics subtly increase from tune to tune, that eventually set you up, to a few hand selected tunes with a message. I hope that it locks you under that magical spell, and that it wraps you in a blanket of warmth, as you gently let it take you in to its dreamy atmospheric vibe. It is an infectious voyage, to say the least, if you allow it to take you there. Yes, I’m totally Inspired and want to share it with you. ENJOY the Ride!
